Artist bio & examples of work that I have created over the last few years.
I appropriate inspiration from the Universe, artists, musicians and writers. I love going to shows and sharing ideas; this helps me bring expression, authenticity and integrity to my own work. I scavenge some of my substrates off the side of the road, free sales and scrap woodpiles. Typically I will combine at least two or three mediums in my assemblage work which often will include stencils, stickers and spray paint. I usually work on several pieces at one time. Everything comes down to execution. If the piece I’m working on does not resonate with me, I make wholesale changes to it until I’m satisfied. Even then, I cut up and destroy a lot of my work and then look for the magic re-arrangement in the pieces — something I would not have thought to do otherwise, something surprising. My work is tactile and dimensional: a reflection of myself and my world.
